Our Little Big Story
What’s in a name? We love the meaning of Shiloh. We try to emulate it in our home as well with all our friends and family, furry ones included. Shiloh is the name of our very best friend. We decided to name our cattery after him. He is our tri color rough coated collie born 7/28/2014. It may seem different to name a cattery after a dog, but he is no ordinary pup. We adore his nature. He is a friend to all creatures great and small. He hasn’t met a dog, cat, bird or rat he didn’t love. To be honest, we don’t think there is a cat or dog that didn’t love him back. Animals and kids instantly sense his calmness. They feel safe in his presence. He exudes a peaceful and gentle nature. Ragdolls are the perfect breed to carry on Shiloh’s legacy!
We were first introduced to the ragdoll breed in 1996. We adopted Sebastian who was a seal point mitted with a blaze. He was such a gentleman. He loved on all the kiddos and pretty much anyone who came through our doors. He sparked a deep love for the breed. He even once showed such bravery when an aggressive dog came barreling towards our 2-year-old son. Sebastian fiercely protected his boy and sent that dog running, tail between its legs. Very impressive and steadfastly loyal! We knew this was the breed for us. Sebastian was with us for 18 wonderful years.
When we became empty nesters, we decided to focus on our love of ragdolls. 4 Shiloh Ragdolls began under the mentorship of two outstanding 20+ years breeders. The mentorship and support we receive from these dedicated, ethical breeders is priceless. Stepping out of their daily lives to help us is so valuable, its worth cannot be calculated. There are few that do it. We are blessed by their mentorship and now friendship. 4 Shiloh Ragdolls would not exist without those who have gone before us.
We are a small in-home closed cattery. We raise our babies as part of the family. There is plenty of opportunity for socialization and real-life experiences by living side by side with us. Here at 4 Shiloh, we are dedicated to breeding happy and healthy ragdolls. We focus on health, temperament, confirmation, and giving our kitties the best life possible. Our cattery is TICA and CFA registered.
