We have other babies too! Here are some of our beloved furry friends.
Meet Shiloh, our inspiration for our cattery. We got Shiloh in 2014 right after we lost my mom suddenly. I (Elisa) was not coping very well. I came across a photo of my mama in 3rd grade with her own tri color collie. I decided to help me heal I would get one and train him to be a therapy dog. My mom often used the word Shiloh as it meant something special to her. He was named for her and our cattery is named for him. He embodies everything about Shiloh. Interesting the way the Lord works- my mom passed away from a incarcerated hernia, when Shiloh was 8 months old he was rushed to the emergency hospital only to be diagnosed with the same exact thing. They gave us very little hope of survival. The Lord had a different plan. Against all odds Shiloh survived! He lost 1/3 of his liver but he recovered and is a happy old man. We love our Shiloh and call him our once in a lifetime dog. He sets the bar so high no one can even come close.
Meet Sojourner Justus, AKA Sojo. AKA Potato (because he looks like one) He is a trained PTSD service dog. We named him Sojourner because he travels everywhere with us. That is the meaning of his name. A traveler passing through. When he has his vest on, he is all business, but if you take it off, he is a giant clown. He is a German Spitz.
Meet Frank, he is our favored moggie boy. Affectionately known as beep beep. Frank was born oxygen deprived. Our son gave him CPR and saved his life. It did render him almost totally blind. Frank is resilient and can navigate every corner of our home. He never ceases to amaze us and visitors. Most can’t even tell he has a disability. Frank can trick most people into believing he can see because he is so adept at navigating. P.S. His love language is quality time.
Meet Louise, also known as Weezie and Mama Lou. She is our stunning moggie girl. If Louise was a garment, she would be a scarf. She loves to snuggle around your neck. She is very vocal and loves to follow us around. She is our only cat allowed outside. (Semi feral at adoption from shelter) She will find us at the neighbor’s house and come running calling for us to come home.
Meet Us, we are Ryan and Elisa. I know technically we aren’t furry (except Ryan a little) but this is as good a place as any to show you what we look like. We have been together for a super long time, and we are still best friends. We support and love one other, but even more important than that we really like each other. We raised 3 children together. We are parents, grandparents, godparents, foster parents, and now cattery parents together. We do life together and that is how we like it!
