What does that mean? As consumers we make purchases based on several factors. Sometimes we are very visual and like the look of something. This is helpful when shopping for clothing and haircuts. Sometimes we shop by recommendations. This is helpful with childcare. We shop by someone’s reputation, which is helpful when employing someone or being good friends with them. Many folks shop on impulse; this may be a good idea when you are thinking of a loved one and you buy a token of affection. There are plenty of people who buy based on careful research. This comes in handy when making major purchases like housing and cars or even shopping for a doctor.

Shopping for a living being- should not be bought on impulse. They are a commitment that will last many years. They are a financial and emotional investment. Sometimes we see an adorable photo of an available kitten, and we jump at the idea of snuggling that baby. That baby will grow into an adult and be with you for many years. Not that an impulse buy won’t last but it isn’t the best way. Careful research and relationship building is a better way. First research the breed that is right for you then invest in a relationship with a breeder. Trust is key to this process. There are a plethora of kittens in the world always available at any given time. There will always be kittens out there.

Shop by Breeder not cat. What is different and special is the relationship you can build with a breeder to support that kitten into adulthood. This is why we like to match temperaments’ first and foremost to insure proper placement of our babies. We like to get to know our families to help choose the best match. Looks are secondary to long term personality matches. Don’t get me wrong I have my personal preferences of what my eyes enjoy but one of the most precious relationships I have is with a plain black blind cat. Nothing fancy just a perfect match.

So, if you decide the ragdoll is right for you find a breeder you can trust. Find someone who loves their kittens like they are part of the family. Find someone who has the level of support you would like for your kitten. Then wait for that practically perfect baby to be born and raised by someone you trust. We would love to add you to the 4Shiloh Ragdoll family!

At 4ShilohRagdolls we gently introduce the babies to our babies. Sawyer, our grandson with his favorite girl Apricot.
